Everything Fishy Customer Internet Privacy Statement
I. Information being collected online.
Unless you order from the site, or email us, we collect zero specific information about or from consumers visiting Everything Fishy.
Expected changes: Everything Fishy will never have time to publish a newsletter. Once your order is processed, you may be notified by email of shipping details, and after that, we delete all electronic record of your email address. Hard copy is kept on file as required by credit card companies, then shredded and burned. (Note: if you have contacted us in the past via email, or ordered products, you KNOW that we do answer our email and respond to your inquiries and requests, generally in less than 24 hours.)
No personal information will be disclosed to third parties for any purpose whatsoever, including marketing.
Persons attempting to place fraudulent orders on stolen credit cards be warned: we're pretty good at spotting them, and pretty good at turning your info over to the bank involved. So far, we haven't shipped one, as of January 2006. (6 years) The advantage in dealing with a smaller company is that a human that cares does look at these. I don't know what the bank does with these: that's their job.
III. Opting Out
Corrections to your account, transaction, order recently placed, problem with order, shipping disaster (truck ran over the box, etc.), are most quickly handled by email or fax (817-293-1782). This gives us a written record of your request, that we can print out the correction for our files at the same time we are making the changes, scheduling a re-ship, etc. We will confirm the request via email or return fax, your choice, if it is faxed in. We will confirm your request by email if it is emailed in.
V. How we protect consumer information online.
Everything Fishy's Shopping Cart is on a secured server using standard Internet SSL protocol to encrypt information. Encryption is the process of coding your message before it leaves your computer. To decode the message, the computer that receives your coded message must have the correct compatible software in order for decoding to take place.
All transactions conducted through our Shopping Cart are secured and authenticated. Our server hosting the shopping cart utility encodes all product and sales requests and notifies the owner of the transaction. The owner must access a secured document before reading the order information — no credit card data or other personal items are transmitted insecurely in the process. Your shipping document will not include credit card data, only the items ordered, cost, address, etc.
The system is actually safer than giving a credit card number over the telephone, giving it to a food server, or even using it at the gas station. Yet we do all these things and never question this procedure. The system that Everything Fishy's Shopping Cart uses is as safe as the automatic teller machines we are accustomed to using.
Cart Errors I tried to order and _______happened.
If you try to order, and the shopping cart won't let you, email
us. If we can duplicate your error, you receive a $2.00 merchandise credit for each error
you catch. (except the Y2K bug certificate expired error) No cost, no postage, no handling and we don't spam your email. (We may put first name, last initial,
city and state on the page as a winner.) We have a secure shopping cart that has one flaw: it occasionally
refuses orders. If you are already ordering something, and the cart fails, we'll make it worth your time to send
us an email.
If you change your mind, ordered the wrong item or want it shipped to the billing address instead of the shipping, please notify us immediately by email. We try to ship same day whenever possible, but we will try to correct your order if it hasn't left yet.
Email us, please, and let us know. Thanks.
I don't use credit cards, etc. For persons that have some concerns about giving out credit card numbers, that don't have or choose not to use credit cards, I share your concerns. I hate using a credit card by mail, or by phone, or over the internet. I do it, but I find myself worrying a little each time. So far, I haven't had anyone abuse my credit card information. I'm honest, the server is secure, my files are secure, and the fax and phone lines are as secure as any land phone line. I will not ship COD, because of the costs involved, particularly those involved if someone runs short on cash and refuses the shipment. I won't ship on credit, unless you and I have been doing business regularly for over a year. But you are welcome to send a check or money order and your completed order form to the address below. To use the Shopping Cart to calculate pricing and shipping, select the Fax/Mail order option. It will ask for address information for freight purposes, but no credit information is required. You can print the form out and send it with your chosen form of payment, which, since we no longer accept checks by mail, should not have any private information on it..
